Hi guys :) Since I am getting back into writing after a 3-year hiatus, I wanted to make select days for different topics. I love to write about everything lol so Thursdays are going to be for product reviews. Today’s product review is for an exercise machine called the Gazelle Glider.
Side note* I have been on a weight loss journey for about 3 years. I lost 70 pounds and then regained about 40 pounds after life happened, and I ended up in a domestic violence shelter with my child in 2024.
After I got my starting over apartment, I shut myself away from the world, quit exercising, stopped talking to people, and stayed to myself. I had worked so hard on my weight and mental health in 2022-2023. I had lost weight, got into therapy, and went back to school.
So, when my world came crumbing down in 2024, I felt as I had taken 10 steps backwards. However, I got fed up with how I was feeling and started working on myself again recently. I realized I needed time to heal and process what I had been through.
I guess sometimes you need to heal to continue to go forward, even if that means taking a few steps backwards for a while. It’s okay :)
Back to the review of the Gazelle Glider. When I first started exercising, I was around 260 pounds, could hardly move, and was beyond miserable. The Gazelle Glider is what helped me start getting my mobility back. I started with 20 minutes and moved up to an hour a day gradually. After about 8 months I traded the glider for an exercise bike because I wanted to be able to ride bikes with my kiddo. The glider is what helped me get to a transition point, especially with reducing water retention.

The benefits I received from the gazelle were:
- The ability to move more
- It was low impact, so it did not hurt as bad
- Reduced inflammation
- Helped with water retention
- Beginner friendly, I was able to use this machine to comfortably transfer to another one later
- It was foldable so I could store it in my tiny home easier than bigger machines
- I was able to exercise comfortably in my own home
- I started gaining more confidence

The first picture is when I first started exercising, the second picture is when I lost about 60-70 pounds, and the last picture is currently after I gained about 40 pounds back. I now have a YMCA membership and am doing keto to help me lose weight once more. I also share weekly keto recipes on Friday :)
